About Dr. Mario Leitao:

Dr. Mario Leitao is an experienced da Vinci surgeon who has performed over 1,300 cases since his training in 2006. He graduated from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, completed his Ob Gyn residency in Beth Israel Medical Center, and completed his Fellowship in Gynecology Oncology at MSKCC in New York, with the Michael E. Burt Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence.
Dr. Leitao is currently the Director of Minimal Access and Robotic Surgery (MARS) Program at MSKCC where he helped to build one of the exemplary robotic surgery programs in the world across multiple surgical specialties. He is also the Fellowship Director, Gynecology Service at MSKCC.
Dr. Leitao has been an invited guest lecturer on the value of da Vinci surgery in the US, Asia, Europe and other regions. He is the author of many peer-reviewed scientific articles, chapters and editorials. He is also an active member of medical societies including SGO, AAGL and ACOG among others.
